The Data Shepherdess
Researcher, R&D digital data problem solver and business strategist.
My passion has always been and remains helping the scientists in the lab (my ultimate customers) and their organisation to do their work as efficiently as possible to advance research, focusing in particular on the data side to take advantage of the recent AI and ML innovations.
With 25+ years of experience both in the lab and in software development, I am offering my services as an independent consultant to R&D departments and companies to advance their research faster and more efficiently by advising on data management, problem solving, and providing data stewardship services.
My communication skills and adaptability to the various stakeholders enable me to act as the “glue”, the “translator” between the lab scientists, their managers, IT and data scientists, and executive management with support for making business cases.
I am French, I live in the UK, bilingual, and I have been working with teams around the world and learn to adapt to the cultural differences.

Education and professional experience
I started my career following my PhD in organic Chemistry at the Universite de Limoges (France), as a postdoctoral researcher in organic and medicinal chemistry, working in the field of nucleoside analogues. These years in the lab have taught me about the scientific mindsets and challenges encountered by scientists, in particular around their data and its management.
I then joined IDBS, a scientific software company where I have learnt about the software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) participating to all the phases of it myself via the various roles I have held: from Tester, to test lead to business analyst, product owner and then product manager. I have held each of these roles for several years, gaining experience and professional qualifications in each roles.
Skills and capabilities
An accomplished problem solver and business analyst & product owner, I have developed skills such as prioritisation and communication, adapting to the audience. Being French, living in the UK for over 20 years, I am bilingual French-English, and having worked with teams and customers across the globe, I can adapt to the cultural differences to ensure efficient approaches and communications.
My time in the lab and my work with many R&D teams have given me the ability to speak and understand to scientists along with a general knowledge of the data workflows and challenges encountered by scientists and their teams.
With my experience ranging from the bench where attention to details is paramount to product management I can adapt and act as intermediate between the lab floor and the executives, offering strategic thinking and business acumen.
